☀️ Summer Vacation Tips & Ideas Series, Spartans?! This week, we are waiting for the sun to go down for a massive, high-energy game that the whole family will love!

This week’s tip: Flashlight Sardines! 🌌🔋

How it works: It’s reverse hide-and-seek! One person hides in the dark house or a safe backyard, and everyone else searches for them with flashlights.

The Twist: When you find the hider, you have to quietly pack into the hiding spot with them. The last person searching loses, and the hiding spot gets hilariously crowded!

The Cost: $0! Just grab a few flashlights or phone lights.

💬 📸 SHOW US YOUR CREW: Did you find the ultimate hiding spot? Drop a picture of your family packed into a hilarious hiding spot in the comments, or comment below with the best hiding spot in your house! Let’s see those stealthy Spartans! 👇

☀️ Summer Vacation Tips & Ideas Series, Spartans?! This week, we are slowing things down just a bit for the ultimate, low-key evening hangout at one of Ogden's prettiest hidden gems!

This week’s tip: Sunset Hangouts at Beus Pond! 🪵✨

The Vibe: Grab your friends or family, throw down some blankets, and listen to your favorite music while watching an amazing Utah sunset.

The Wildlife: It's the perfect spot to take a quick walk or say hi to the local ducks, geese, and swans.

Spartan Tip: If you want to feed the ducks, skip the bread (it's not great for their bellies!). Bring some defrosted frozen peas, corn, or chopped grapes instead—they love it!

The Cost: Totally FREE!

💬 📸 SHOW US YOUR VIEW: Did you catch an incredible sunset this week? Drop your best sunset selfie or pond photo in the comments below, or tag your favorite sunset hangout crew! Let’s see those views, Spartans! 👇

☀️ Summer Vacation Tips & Ideas Series, Spartans?! This week, we are building a bridge between the past and the future with a super cool project that you’ll treasure for years to come!

This week’s tip: The Family Interview & Time Capsule! 📜🎒

The Mission: Have our students interview their parents or grandparents about what life was like when they were 13 or 14 years old! (What was the music? The fashion? The trends?)

The Twist: Write down the answers, add a few current 2026 pop-culture items (like a favorite snack wrapper or a list of top songs), and seal it all up in a container.

The Goal: Save it to open on High School Graduation day! 🎓

💬 📸 SHARE THE HISTORY: Who did you interview this week? Drop a picture of your student with their interview superstar in the comments, or tell us the funniest thing you learned about your parents' teen years! Let’s see those Spartan time capsules! 👇

☀️ Summer Vacation Tips & Ideas Series, Spartans?! This week, we are staying up past bedtime to witness the ultimate, free celestial light show right from the comfort of a lawn chair!

This week’s tip: Stargazing at North Fork Park (or your Backyard)! 🌠🛸

The Local Flex: Did you know the Ogden Valley is home to North Fork Park, an officially designated International Dark Sky Park? It is one of the absolute best places in the state to see the Milky Way!

The Backyard Option: If you don't want to drive up the canyon, just turn off all your house lights, throw down a mountain of blankets on the lawn, and look up.

Pro-Tip: Keep an eye out during mid-August for the famous Perseid Meteor Shower! 2026 is actually a perfect viewing year because the moon will be completely dark during the peak nights.

The Cost: $0!

💬 LET'S HEAR IT: Have you ever seen a shooting star before? Drop a comment below and tell us your favorite constellation or who you would invite to a midnight stargazing session! 👇

☀️ Summer Vacation Tips & Ideas series, Spartans?! This week, we are staying out of the heat and heading straight into the kitchen for some epic family competition!

This week’s tip: The "Chopped" Kitchen Challenge! 🧺👨‍🍳

How it works: Raid the pantry as a family and pick 4 totally random ingredients (think: pickles, crackers, marshmallows, and peanut butter!).

The Battle: Split into teams—or kids vs. parents! Set a timer and see who can create the most delicious (or hilariously creative) snack or meal.

The Cost: $0! It's a perfect, free way to use up what you already have at home.

💬 📸 SHOW US YOUR CREATIONS: Who is the ultimate Spartan chef? Post a picture of your final dish in the comments, or tell us the 4 crazy ingredients you used! We want to see those masterpiece plates (or total cooking disasters)! 👇

The Cost: Completely FREE!

This week’s tip: Play Disc Golf at Fort Buenaventura! 🌲🎒

Why we love it: Did you know this is a world-championship level course? "The Fort" features an awesome 18-hole course surrounded by beautiful trees and the Weber River.

Spartan Tip: If you don't have official disc golf discs, a regular frisbee works great for beginners! Keep an eye out for the local wildlife while you play 🦆.

The Cost: Just $4 per player to play the course (cash box or QR code at Hole #1)! 💬

📸 SHOW US YOUR THROW: We want to see those Spartan trick shots! Drop a picture of your family playing at the Fort in the comments, or tell us: Who in your family won the round? 👇

☀️ Summer Vacation Tips & Ideas Series, Spartans?! This week, we are buckling up for a nostalgic road trip down memory lane where you are the official tour guide!

This week’s tip: The "History of You" Drive! 🗺️🎙️

The Mission: Parents, take your junior high students on a driving tour of your own past right here around the local area.

The Route: Show them the spots that defined your own teenage years—where you had your very first summer job, the neighborhood where you used to hang out at 14, or the exact place you and your spouse first met!

The Secret: Junior high kids might act too cool to care, but they secretly absolutely love hearing their parents' "old school" stories and realizing you were once their age, too.

The Cost: $0! (Just a little bit of gas!)

💬 LET'S HEAR IT: What local spot from your past always cracks your kids up when you talk about it? Drop a comment below and tell us one "old school" story or landmark your family is visiting this week! 👇
