A SMALL TASTE OF MUSICAL THEATER

During 4th period on a B day, 9th grader Daphne Booth was dancing to “Better When I’m Dancing” in Mrs. Stone’s room as a dance warmup. This warmup is dance practice for their upcoming play, Newsies.

The fun and energetic vibe buzzed in the air in Mrs. Stone’s room as Daphne danced in the warmup. Daphne said that she was having fun.

When asked what she’d tell someone new to theatre, Daphne said, “I would tell them that it is really fun, that you make a lot of friends with new people, that you get to sing and dance, and that everyone is just really supportive.”

Musical theatre is not just singing and acting. It also has dancing, and this warmup helps with that!

With weeks of rehearsal behind them, the cast is getting better and better each day as everyone gets ready for the spring show!
