Cell Phone Policy

The appropriate use of cell phones will be permitted before and after school hours and during the student’s lunch period.  Because of the risk that these devices may be broken, lost, or stolen, students are discouraged from bringing them to school.  If extenuating circumstances require that the device by brought to school, it must be turned off and stored in lockers, backpacks, or book bags during classroom time* (*see Digital Media Devices).  Use of cell phones for inappropriate reasons while on campus, such as cheating, sexting, harassment, or any use that is inappropriate or disruptive to a positive learning school environment, will be cause for discipline.  Cell phone misuse will result in the following consequences:1st Offense—Warning: Cell phone is returned to student at the end of the day.

 

Cell phone will be taken away and kept in the office until the end of the school day.  Student’s name will be recorded in the student tracker and parents contacted.

 

 

2nd OffenseA parent or authorized adult is required to pick up the cell phone.

3rd Offense— Suspension for one day.

Cell phone will be taken away and kept in the office.  Students name will be recorded in the student tracker and parents contacted.  A parent or authorized adult is required to pick up the cell phone.  Student will be suspended for one day.

 

Phones are available in the Student Services Office and window at the Main Office.

“Violation of school cell phone and/or other electronic devices policy gives the school administration your consent to view the contents of that device.  School district policies and State and Federal laws regarding illegal content of electronic devices will be strictly enforced.”
